Cafe Au Connexion

Telepresent Consumption Experience

This project was completed with fellow classmates Chrisoula Kapelonis, Jiabao Li and Julia Rue for Tangible Interfaces at the MIT Media Lab.

The goal of this project is to provide a means of connection between two people during their busy routines. Two drinking vessels are linked virtually. When one user touches their cup, a subtle handprint appears on the other mug. As they blow on their coffee to cool it, ripples appear on the surface of the remote users drink. In this way, a subtle and intimate means of awareness is created.

I've included some sketches from throughout the iterative process, as well as my individual proposal for a telepresent painting experience. This is something I am still interested in pursuing further.
